The wood came from this barn behind our house.It just fell right off and Chris picked it up off the ground and made it into something useful..
This corner of our bathroom used to look like this a few weeks ago.Now you know why you’ve never seen it before!I was originally going to paint this old laminate cabinet white, get some new hardware and call it done.
Then I asked Chris if he would mind maybe, possibly, cutting me a piece of barnwood to go in the back of the shelf, just to make it extra pretty.He suggested he just build me a whole new one out of barnwood.
It didn’t hurt that I asked for help on a weekend night when Kennedy was away on a sleepover.
If she’s sleeping at a friend’s house, Chris will do just about any DIY project for me for some reason.Don’t they know how great cat tails are for Fall decorating?.
I can’t wait to look back on all these pictures in a few months when everything is so different and remember what it looked like during our first month here.. What do you do to mark the changing of the season?This is our barn.. Well, no.This is the barn across the creek from our house.
The 150 acre property with the barn was owned by the family that used to own our house for the last 180 years or so, or at least that’s what we hear.25 years-ish ago, they sold all but the 1.5 acres that we have around our house to a farmer.. Truthfully though, we never see a soul around that part of the property, so we cut the grassy area around it and use it for soccer games and golf practice.
